Voluta Table Lamp

The Voluta is a meditation on continuity. Where most lamps end with a shade, the Voluta begins with one — a perfect sphere wrapped in ribs that spiral without interruption from the tip of each conical foot to the very top. There is no base seam, no visual break. The form rotates as your eye follows it, and you arrive back where you started. The name is borrowed from architecture. A voluta is the scroll carved into the capital of an Ionic column — the oldest known use of continuous spiral form in decorative design. This lamp is its modern iteration: the same logic of unbroken curvature, expressed in three dimensions and made luminous. **Light as a second surface** The ribs on the Voluta are set closer together than on any other piece in our collection. The effect is intentional: the narrow channels between them produce tighter, denser bands of amber light on surrounding surfaces. At night, the walls near a Voluta carry a soft pattern of parallel curves, shifting slowly as you move through the space. **The Material** Printed in premium PLA bioplastic over the course of fifteen hours. PLA is plant-derived, biodegradable, and chosen specifically for how it handles warm-spectrum light — transmitting enough to glow from within, diffusing enough to protect the eye. The warm ivory surface is left matte. No lacquer, no coating. The material speaks for itself. **Made in India** Every rib is formed layer by layer on precision-calibrated equipment. The surface is inspected by hand.
